Caring for our Community

We all know some of the elders in our community are lonely, or don’t have family to help them. In partnership with Age Concern, Gina Jansen Lawyers is proud to support and care for our elderly and most vulnerable, and those who support and care for them, by offering our legal services when they are needed.  We got involved.  Will you?

Information and Support

As lawyers, we fight against ageism and discrimination to promote positive ageing.  We are proud to advise and represent “age” related businesses (retirement homes/caregivers), family members and elderly people to obtain enduring powers of attorney, wills or make applications under the PPPR Act for welfare guardians and property managers. We can advise the elderly on reverse mortgages so you can stay in your home, WINZ subsidies and entitlements for entry into retirement villages, downsizing from the main home to purchasing an occupation licence in a retirement village, advance care planning, elder abuse and neglect and financial abuse under an enduring powers of attorney. And when that time comes, we can help with the administration of your loved one's estate, including High Court applications for Probate (with a will) or Letters of Administration (no will), help to find the right funeral director that suits your family/whanau, and support you through the legal processes following the death of a family member.

Let’s End Loneliness

The Let’s End Loneliness coalition was setup in 2018 to bring people together and to reach and support people who are feeling lonely and isolated. Solving social problems such as loneliness is not done by one organisation so in support of the New Zealand Coalition to End Loneliness, Gina Jansen Lawyers are committed to working with other organisations to create a community that thrives and where New Zealanders can have positive relationships. Check it out and “Put a Light on Loneliness” here.
